Lt Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa Chosen As New Army Chief of Pakistan

Following quite a while of exceptional theory and bits of gossip, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has finished the choice of two senior armed force officers as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC)

A profession infantry officer having a place with the Baloch Regiment, Lt Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has been selected as the new COAS, while Lt Gen Zubair Hayat has been named the CJCSC.

Lt Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and Lt Gen Zubair Hayat will be elevated to the rank of four-star officers.

Others in conflict for the post of armed force boss were Bahawalpur Corps Commander Lt Gen Javed Iqbal Ramday and Multan Corps Commander Lt Gen Ishfaq Nadeem.

Each of the four commanders are from the PMA’s 62nd long course, yet have had diverse profession directions.
